What you need to know:
Thank you so much for your interest in The New Canadian Stories Magazine! We are honoured to continue Ed Janzen’s legacy, and we are excited to welcome your submissions. The New Canadian Stories publishes poetry, flash fiction narratives, photo essays, and mini memoirs written by writers for The New Canadian Stories writing community. Writers are encouraged to subscribe to the magazine and join our community! We consider submissions that are up to 1,000 to 1,300 words. Please include your name and email address at the top of your submission. Submissions may be sent as Google Docs, or Word Documents. We reserve the right to edit writing for punctuation, grammar and spelling. Before you submit your work, please be sure to edit for spelling -- submissions with spelling errors will not be considered. We are not accepting writing that is political, gore, sexually explicit or profanity. We will update our deadlines on social media and on our website for subsequent issues. Please give us time to respond to submissions. Although we don’t pay writers, we are considering holding writing contests in the future. Thank you so much for sharing your writing with The New Canadian Stories! We look forward to reading your submissions and publishing them for The New Canadian Stories Magazine community.
Please note: We require writers to either subscribe or purchase the copy they are published in to see their work at this time.
When submitting your work, you are confirming that you are the author of the submission and you have the right to submit it for publication, you accept full responsibility for the contents of the submission, and you acknowledge you will not be paid for the submission. New writers are always welcome. All writers are encouraged to subscribe.
